WILF doing one pushup per day

When I decided to do this challenge, I didn’t realize how difficult it would be to do one pushup every day. According to the first half of a healthline article I read, doing 1 pushup a day is incredibly healthy(1). All I knew is I had to do it to begin my metamorphosis from a goddamn centipede to a butterfly or even moth. Some quick calculations can tell you that one pushup a day is about 30 per month, or 365 per year. Assuming I live latest till my mid 60s, and that the existential crisis of hitting age 20 this month would ease the calculation, we are looking at (65–20) * 365pushups. That’s a whopping 16,425 pushups. (Fun fact: As a child, I counted up to 17,000 on the schoolbus ride home one year. Yes this makes me smarter than you.)

In order to do one pushup a day, I had to construct a system to maintain it. I knew that if I allowed a skip day to be added to the next, I could be looking at as much as 5 pushups in one day, which is insurmountable. If I were in a coma, the plug would probably get pulled on me at 6 months, so the max I’m looking at is a mind-boggling 182.5 pushups in a day. Some people say their workout includes 100 pushups a day. They are lying and are frauds. I decided the best system to use for this challenge would to end the journey and post this article when I skipped my first day. Since you are reading this, my journey has concluded with a grand total of 17. Impressive. I genuinely didn’t think I would make it that far, so I’m glad you took the time to read this.

Included below is a shitty healthline article connected to ambiguous sutdies about doing pushups. This is required because I said facts in here and I would be accused of plagiarism and be blacklisted from every insitution on the planet without it. I used a sketchy MLA source generator that probably gave my computer a virus, but have been using it on every essay I have ever written for an underpaid Enlgish teacher. Ever.
